The Access5830 Access Point (AP) is an enterprise class 10 Mbps, direct sequence,
spread spectrum wireless transceiver offering multiple channels of operation in
either the 5.8 GHz unlicensed ISM band, or the 5.3 GHz unlicensed U-NII band. The
AP consists of the radio integrated together with a dual polarized, software
switchable, multi-element planar antenna with a 60 degree beamwidth all in an
outdoor enclosure. Like all Trango Broadband products, the Access Point is powered
via Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) for ease of installation.

The Access5830 AP works in conjunction with any Access5830 compatible subscriber unit including
the new FOX Series SU. The AP has the ability to deliver bandwidth to up to 500 subscriber units.
Tight channels, two bands of operation, coupled with dual polarity antennas allow total collocation
potential of up to 22 access points for a fully loaded cell site. More typical deployments involve
anywhere from 1 to 6 AP's. Since the antenna beamwidth of each AP is 60 degrees, a minimum of 6 Aps
are required to cover one 360 degree site.
Features such as eleven channels, all user-selectable, non-overlapping and programmable, coupled with
dual polarity antennas allow for maximum flexibility and permit the administrator to change channel
assignments quickly and to minimize susceptibility to interference.
All programming of the network and of authorized subscriber units is consolidated at the AP to maintain
full network control. Supported protocols such as Telnet, SNMP, HTTP, and FTP allow network operators
to configure and manage the AP database remotely to modify channel plans, configuration, the Subscriber
Unit database, and other parameters.
Each Access Point includes mounting hardware, power supply, Serial Programming cable and PoE Junction box.
